Obituary of Evelyn Simmons

Evelyn Hilah Muckenfuss Simmons, 90, widow of Leroy Simmons, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Born on August 2, 1923, in Seneca, she was the daughter of the late John Hancock and the late Josie Britt Muckenfuss. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Charleston. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Delores Cherry (John) of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Jack Cherry of Chapin and Jason Cherry (Jennifer) of Georgetown; five great grandchildren, Kristen Parker, John Michael Cherry, Caroline Cherry, Mary Cecile Cherry and Claire Cherry; one brother, Howard Muckenfuss, Jr. (June) of Ridgeville; one nephew, George Muckenfuss, III; and one niece, Gaye Muckenfuss.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, John G. Cherry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 2, 2013 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Timothy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Cummings Chapel Cemetery at 2 PM.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at Graham Funeral Home.
