Obituary of Francis Parker

Francis Marion Parker, Sr., 82, widower of Margie Ann Tanner Parker, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at his home. Born on June 24, 1931, in Williamsburg County, he was a son of the late Cleve Parker and the late Lula Frye Parker. Mr. Parker was a US Marine veteran and attended Eastside Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith. He enjoyed singing, telling stories and spending time with his family. Survivors include three children, Lisa Ward (Dennis) and Gregory Parker (Alicia) all of Georgetown and Francis Marion Parker, Jr. of Pawleys Island; five grandchildren, Brandon Parker (Kristen), Kayla Mau, Francis M. Parker, III, Lane Parker and Sarah Parker; three sisters, Rosa Sims, Addie Bell Mixon and Betty Carolyn Cumbie. He was preceded in death by eight brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Eastside Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice Care of South Carolina, especially Windy Todd and Ruthie Greene, for the loving care they provided to Mr. Parker.
