Obituary of Alberta Simmons

Alberta Lane Simmons, 85, widow of John R. Simmons, died December 27, 2011 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on September 23, 1926, in Kingstree, she was a daughter of the late Albert Lane and the late Lilly Alberta Lane. Survivors include two children, John Michael Simmons and Peggy Ann Simmons; seven grandchildren, Toshua Brown Shelley (Earl), Crystal Martine Simmons, Nathan Simmons, Kelly Simmons, John David Simmons, David Michael Simmons and Jessica Simmons; four great grandchildren, Christopher John Rogers, Bradley Rogers, Patrick William Shelley and Rachel Reagan Shelley; two brothers, Caroll Lane and Henry Lane, one sister, Estelle Bennett; three nieces, Mary Frances Owens, Gwen Dougherty and Darlene Crobin; and five nephews, Wayne Lane, Donald Lane, Ronald Lane, Ernest Bennett and Richard Bennett. Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 30, 2011 in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Benji Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Graham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N.
