Obituary of Donald McLaughlin

Donald Boyd "Don" McLaughlin, 74, husband of Sue Radcliffe McLaughlin, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on October 16, 1938, in Florence County, he was a son of the late Henry Samuel McLaughlin and the late Sarah Bell McLaughlin. Mr. McLaughlin attended First Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Atlantic Fence Company. Mr. McLaughlin was a Mason and a member of the G&W Shrine Club where he served as president in 1983. Mr. McLaughlin was a founding member of Winyah Cruisers Car Club having won many awards for his outstanding classic car collection. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; one daughter, Ginger Gray (William); a granddaughter, Rachel Morgan Gray; grandson John Parker Gray, all of Georgetown; a brother, Jimmy McLaughlin (Joanne) of Florence; four sisters, Emile Murray (Jim) and Pat Rogers, all of Florence; Meredith Barrineau (Scott) of Sumter and Jeanette Ham (Buck) of Effingham; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Mark McLaughlin. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, July 8, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Sherrill and Rev. Joe Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at Graham Funeral Home.
