Obituary of Thomas Skipper

Rev. Thomas Edward Skipper, 81, beloved husband of Joyce Johnson Skipper, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at The Medical University of South Carolina.
Born on February 6, 1932, in Lancaster, he was a son of the late George Leo Skipper and the late Esther Omitt Walters Skipper. Rev. Skipper was a graduate of Holmes Theological Seminary and Pembroke State University. After graduating, Rev. Skipper spent 57 years preaching the Gospel and serving the Lord. Rev. Skipper was a member of Spring Pond Pentecostal Holiness Church, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a United States Air Force Veteran having received numerous medals. He was a former educator with the Scotland County School System in North Carolina. Rev. Skipper enjoyed many things in life to include hunting, fishing and most of all the joy he received by singing and preaching the Gospel.
Survivors include his beloved wife of Andrews; three children, Michael E. Skipper and Thomas Kevin Skipper (Charlotte) all of Georgetown and Cathy J. Skipper of Andrews; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, William E. Skipper (Mary) of Georgetown; two sisters, Alberta Bratcher of Georgetown and Rev. Wyllene Skipper of Hot Springs, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle S. Price, Mary S. Howard and Betty Cooper and a daughter in law, Lee Bouchette Skipper.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Suttons United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
