Obituary of Donald Vopelak

Donald Francis Vopelak, 78, widower of Eula Wiggins Vopelak, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Born on June 12, 1935, in Queens, NY, he was a son of the late Francis Vopelak and the late Mary Bencich Vopelak. Mr. Vopelak attended St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired New York City police officer. He was a member of the Myrtle Beach Stamp Club and a member of the Sergeant Benevolent Association. Mr. Vopelak enjoyed many things in life to include collecting stamps, gardening, crabbing, fishing, boating, hunting, attending auctions, going to plays at the Swamp Fox Theater, finding a good bargain at yard sales and most of all enjoying life itself.
Survivors include six children, Richard Vopelak (Diana) of Ellenburg Depot, NY, Linda Dane (John) of Wadmalaw Island, Mary Tarr (Floyd) of Lexington, Tammy Britt (Marty) of Jamestown, Diane Crosby (Bill) of Lexington and Pat Brady of Murrells Inlet; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Donald, Jessica, Joline, Lance, Jordan and Shallon; and four great grandchildren, Kensley, Raelyn, Logan and Lucas.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Marty Britt; and a brother, Bob Vopelak.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 at St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Chris Browder officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiggins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at Graham Funeral Home.
