Obituary of Virginia Huggins

Virginia Davis Huggins died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on June 7, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Born in Walker County, AL, on February 17, 1924, she was the youngest of seven children. Mrs. Huggins moved to Georgetown in 1942 and worked at International Paper Company where she met her future husband, Hugh Johnson "Hootie" Huggins and were married February of 1944. She was a loving wife and mother who chose to stay home to raise her family.
She was predeceased by her parents and six siblings, her husband, H.J. "Hootie" Huggins, and a grandson, Rhett Madison Balthis.
She is survived by her son Hugh Johnson "Johnny" Huggins (Olivia) of Georgetown; a daughter Sandra H. Balthis of Columbia; two grandchildren Clint Huggins of Georgetown and Caroline Balthis Shipitz (Nate) of Elgin; and two special great nieces, Brenda and Kathy Keys both of Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Huggins was expecting her first great grandchild in October of this year.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 10, 2013 in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Wall officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials made be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440, First Baptist Church, 219 Cleland St. Georgetown, SC 29440 or to the charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank Tidelands Hospice for the wonderful care she was given during her final days.
