Obituary of Raymond Carter

Raymond Lee Carter, 58, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home. Born on January 27, 1955, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Redge Carter and the late Mary Fulton Carter. Mr. Carter was a member of Liberty Christian Church and was the owner of Raymond’s Ceramic Tile and enjoyed fishing and working in the yard with his daughter. Mr. Carter will be remembered by all who loved him to include his family, friends and co-workers with Singleton Construction. Survivors include his companion, Linda D. Carter of Georgetown; three children, Regina Carter (Dean), Laura Jacobs (Jimmy) and Betty Bone (Roy) all of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Christin Carter, Loretta Gilleland, Brook Jacobs, Lee Jacobs, Samantha Cherry and Elaine Bone; three great grandchildren, Jaylynn Carter, Braydon Long and Adalee Hockenberry; four step-children, Aimee Moore of Laurens, Wesley Deyton of Waterlou, Melanie Deyton of Inman and Jason Deyton of Georgetown two brothers, Jimmy Carter (Ellen) of Georgetown and Wayne Carter of Georgetown; three sisters, Emily Owens of Pawleys Island, Betty "Micky" Marshall of Andrews and Libby Carter (Jerry) of Andrews; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special four legged family member, Deuce Carter. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Earline Carter; a nephew, Jimmy Carter, Jr.; two nieces, Brenda Carter and Glenda Carter; and a brother in law, Jimmy Marshall. Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM Friday, May 17, 2013 at Liberty Christian Church with the Rev. Jerry Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the home, 73 Empire St. Georgetown. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 407 Church St. Georgetown, SC 29440. The family would like to thank Hospice Care of South Carolina for their loving caring and support they provided to Mr. Carter and the Carter family.
