Obituary of Edward McLeod

Edward Ernest McLeod, III, 70, husband of Betty Bassett McLeod, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 9, 1942, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Edward Ernest McLeod, Jr. and the late Margaret Mallard McLeod. Mr. McLeod was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and the CD Parsons Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Winyah High School and Trident Technical College. Mr. McLeod was a US Air Force veteran and retired from CSX Railroad after 36 years of service. He was a Mason with the Indiantown Masonic Lodge #165 and a member of the Scottish Rite. Mr. McLeod was also a Shriner and a member of the Omar Shriners, Waccamaw Shrine Club, the G&W Shrine Club, Omar Jailbirds of Hemingway and the Omar Roadrunners, a transportation unit to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Bassett McLeod of Georgetown; a daughter, Paige McLeod Fuhrer (Tim) of Liberty; two grandchildren, Luke McLeod Fuhrer and William Charles Fuhrer both of Liberty; a sister, Joan Gause (Smtih) of North Myrtle Beach; a brother, John McLeod (Audrey) of Georgetown; father in law, James Bassett of Georgetown; special sister in law and brother in law, Paul and Jeanette Duncan of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Lakewood Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Deeter officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home.
