Alan Gault Brown, Jr., 81, husband of Bette Nelson Milligan Brown, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on September 28, 1931, in Cleveland, OH, he was a son of the late Alan Gault Brown, Sr. and the late Ella Inez McDonald Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and was a US Navy Corpsman stationed at Parris Island Marine Corps Depot. He was retired from International Paper Company and was a member of the Pine Tree Club and the Navy Club. Mr. Brown was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed coaching Dixie Youth Baseball for many years. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three sons, Alan Gault Brown, III (Jean) of Georgetown, Nelson E. Brown (Tammie Avant) of Georgetown and James Herbert Galt-Brown of Sycamore, GA; four grandchildren, Travis Brown (Amber), Christopher Brown, Brook Brown and Nicholas Brown; one great grandchild, Emma Grace Brown; three step great grandchildren, Daylon, Kara and Kayla; one step great great-grandchild, Prestyn; and one cousin, J.C. McDonald. Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 PM Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM Sunday in the Family Life Center at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440. Graham Funeral Home of Georgetown is in charge of the arrangements. www.grahamfuneralhome.org
