George Henry Hoag, III, 70, husband of Mary Ellen Jones, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on June 11, 1942, in Bridgeport, CT, he was a son of the late George Henry Hoag, II and the late Yolanda Gatti Hoag. Mr. Hoag was a member of First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 178. He was a US Army veteran and enjoyed working in the yard, fishing and was a loving father, husband and brother. Survivors include his wife of Pawleys Island; one son, George Christopher Hoag of Naugatuck, CT; two daughters, Alexandria Fair (Jeff) and Nicole English (Patrick) all of Shelton, CT; two step children, Mark Fowler (Courtney) of Hampstead, NC and Tennille Jones (Timothy) of Loris; seven grandchildren, Kylie, Jeffery, Luke, Tommy, Colin, Kendall and Emma Kate; one sister, Rebecca Hammill (Buddy) of Boca Raton, FL; four nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Hoag. A memorial service will be held at 3PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. Memorial may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
