Obituary of Willie Mae Pender

Willie Mae Floyd Pender, 81, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on October 22, 1931, in Olanta, she was a daughter of the late Talmage Floyd and the late Lula Mae Caulder Floyd. Mrs. Pender was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as a former choir member and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed working in the yard, crocheting, dancing and cooking. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ralph W. Pender of Georgetown; one son, Ralph Mark Pender (Sheila) of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Pender and Laura Ashley Pender both of Georgetown; and five sisters, Miriam Thompson of Lake City, Joyce Pruitt of Atlanta, Phyllis Downing (Delmo) of Andrews, Ollie Ray MacDonald (Carrol) of Hartsville and Annie Faye Hall (Ben) of Hartsville. She was preceded in death by one sister, Myra Petkus. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marie Nuckles officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church, 84 Forest Ave. Georgetown, SC 29440. Graham Funeral Home of Georgetown is in charge of the arrangements. www.grahamfuneralhome.org
