Obituary of Reba Gilmore McCants

Reba Inez Gilmore McCants, 88, widow of David Dickerson McCants, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at her residence.

A graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Ricky West, will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2PM in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.  A celebration of life will be held at Messiah Baptist Church following the service. 

Born in Loris, SC on August 2, 1930 to the late Ethel Burr Gilmore and the late Villa Lee Watts Gilmore she was a member of Messiah Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends. Her family was the most important part of her life and she will be dearly missed.

Surviving are two sons, Wendell Jay Gause (June) of Georgetown, William “Frank” Gause (Karen) of Conway; two daughters, Robin Bertha Glessner (Rickey) of Goose Creek, Cheryl Baker (Dennis) of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Neely of Loris, Bonnie Cartrette of Loris; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Causey and Myrtle Sessions; one brother, Jack Gilmore; and one grandson, Samuel Baker.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Cheryl and Dennis Baker at 137 Sollie Circle, Georgetown, SC 29440.
