Pawleys Island Randall James Williamson, 61, husband of Caroline Flowers Williamson, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Waccamaw Tidelands Hospital. He was born September 2, 1955 in Greenville, North Carolina, the son of the late Alfred James Williamson and Irene McLawhorn Williamson. Mr. Williamson attended Pawleys Island Community Church and was very civic minded, giving freely of his time and resources to worthy causes. Locally, he was named volunteer of the year for his continuous work with the Waccamaw area schools where he took on many projects such as the building of the covered patio area and covered dugouts for the baseball field at the Intermediate School. He was a booster club platinum sponsor for several years and sponsored numerous baseball little league teams. He built several small homes on trailers that were used by FEMA for temporary housing. In his free time he loved to travel, was an avid golfer who also loved playing pool and bowling. Family was his number one priority and he loved spending time with his wife and sons. Mr. Williamson’s visitation will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Pawleys Island Community Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11am at Pawleys Island Community Church with interment following in Sampit United Methodist Cemetery. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 23 years are: three sons, Nicholas Ryan Williamson, James Robert Williamson, and Justin Reed Williamson, all of Pawleys Island; one brother, Barry Wayne Williamson (Lisa) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; two sisters, Vonnie Jones (Dennis), and Pattie Moore both of Greenville, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.
