McClellanville, South Carolina Dr. Harry Ernest Heinitsh III, 80, passed away Wednesday February 17, 2016 at his residence. Born November 18, 1935 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Harry Ernest Heinitsh II, MD and the late Annette Blake Heinitsh. He graduated high school from Darlington School in Rome Georgia, received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University, and earned his degree in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Heinitsh was a retired physician who, during his career, was always on the go developing new and innovative ways to treat patients. He was Medical Director of Miami Beach Fire and Rescue for over 20 years and a member of the College of Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Heinitsh was a Special Forces veteran of the United States Army Reserves who served over 40 years, attaining the rank of Colonel. He was also a member of the Special Forces Association Chapter 85. In addition to his soulmate and best friend Marjorie, he is survived by his sister, Virginia Anderson of Greenville, SC; three nephews, Dr. James Anderson (Donna) of Easley, Michael Anderson (Nancy) of Spartanburg, and Steven Anderson of Columbia. He was predeceased by his parents. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
