Obituary of Dorothy Burrows

Dorothy Hartley Ward Burrows, 75, wife of Leo C. Burrows passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on June 16, 1935 in Jamestown she was a daughter of the late Minor Hartley and the late Maggie H. Hartley. Mrs. Burrows was a retired seamstress with Skyline Manufacturing and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; one son, Rondie Ward (Carol) of Georgetwon; nine grandchildren, Bobby Jacobs, Jr., Lisa M. Jacobs, Lori A. Jacobs, Jody Ward, Jamie Ward, Rocky Ward, Jr., Dustin Ward, Kelly Ward and Rondie Ward, Jr.; two sisters, Ethel Lambert and Mamie Cribb both of Georgetown; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie D. Ward and Rocky D. Ward; a daughter, Doris A. Jacobs; two brothers, Archie Hartley and Hennison Hartley; and two sisters, Lucille Michau and Elizabeth Abner. Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chesley Floyd and the Rev. Arthur McElveen officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Graham Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to Tidelands Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
