Obituary of Verlie Lee

Verlie Matthews Lee, 95, widow of W.D. Lee, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at her home. Born on December 7, 1915 in Cowards, she was a daughter of the late Jimmy Matthews and the late Ettie Matthews. Mrs. Lee was a member of Screven Baptist Church. Survivors include three children, Jimmy Lee (Janice) of Delray Beach, FL, Linda Marsh of Georgetown and Sidney Lee (Karen) of Georgetown; one daughter-in-law, Annette Lee of Georgetown; 12 grand children, Jimmy Lee, Randy Lee, Gayle Soper, Joel Lee, Michael Lee, Jimmy Lee, Chuck Lee, Mark Lee, Tuesday Lee, Lindsay Marsh-Liles, Justin Marsh and Iris Lee; 10 great grandchildren; one half brother, Billy Matthews of Cowards; a number of nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Richard and Joy Morin. She was preceded in death by two sons, Frank Lee and Charles Lee; two brothers, Lloyd Matthews and Montry Matthews; one sister, Pearl Smith; and one half brother, Delbert Matthews. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in the Chapel of Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky West officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday at Graham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
